DR. PHIL HUMILIATED DEAD STAR BRITTANY MURPHY HUBBY SIMON

Dr. Phil humiliated the still-grieving husband of tragic actress Brittany Murphy when he flew into a rage and kicked the mourning widower out of a recent interview, an insider told The ENQUIRER.

The TV talk-show host was wrapping up a segment with Brittany’s devastated husband, British screenwriter Simon Monjack, when a staff member passed him a note informing him that Simon had already given interviews to other media outlets. Dr. Phil exploded, ripped off his microphone and stormed off, according to a set insider.

"He basically threw the guy out," continued the insider. "I’ve never seen Dr. Phil so angry.

"He screamedat Simon, ‘What the hell is going on here? This was supposed to be exclusive and now I find out you’ve been shooting your mouth off all over town. I’m pulling the plug on this one. We’re done!’

"Simon looked stunned. He’d been sitting there doing this sympathetic interview, and then suddenly he was being shuffled out."

Brittany,  died from cardiac arrest after collapsing in the bathroom of her Los Angeles home on Dec. 20. Simon and Brittany’s mother had desperately tried to revive her by placing her in the shower, but she was gone before paramedics arrived.  The coroner reported she died from "natural causes".

Simon, 39, has been speaking out about his plans to sue Warner Bros. over his 32-year-old wife’s death. He claims the Hollywood studio was responsible for her death because it dropped her from her voice role in the animated Happy Feet sequel.

The actress was "devastated" after her contract was canceled, he said.

Simon has come under fire for allegedly acting as Brittany’s "enforcer" in her dealings on set with directors and producers. Warner Bros. also emphatically denied ever entering into any deal with the actress for Happy Feet 2.

Dr. Phil had hoped he could clarify the mystery over Brittany’ s passing, but his concern was clearly more about his ratings than for Brittany’s grieving widower, added the source.

"He didn’t want to have anything to do with Simon after discovering he wasn’t the first person to interview him."
