The View's Rosie O'Donnell and Elisabeth Hasselbeck engaged in a war of words on Wednesday's show. The co-hosts sparred over politics as usual but this time things got personal after Elisabeth said she gave Rosie the opportunity to clarify a statement she made about the troops which was misinterpreted. Rosie asked Elisabeth, "Do you believe that I think our troops are terrorists?" Elisabeth paused and started to explain her point of view when Rosie asked her for a simple yes or no answer. Elisabeth and Rosie then argued over double speaking and facts versus emotions.

Rosie later called Elisabeth a "cowardly" for saying nothing and Rosie she was hurt by Elisabeth's silence. Elisabeth retorted, "I'll tell you what's cowardly, asking a 'rhetorical' question and that you never answer yourself."

As the argument unfolded, co-hosts Joy Behar and Sherri Shephard tried to change the subject by injecting humor and even asking the director to cut to a commercial.
