According to network insider, the former Playboy Playmate’s contract on the chat fest is up for renewal in July and the Alphabet Net is said to be not re-inking with the bubbly blonde.
“Jenny just didn’t appeal to the daytime audience market. They couldn’t relate to her,” a source told FOX411.
“There are a lot of changes taking place now that Barbara (Walters) has left.”
In the changing face of the TV landscape, it is de rigerur that net talent deals last for a year with options to be renewed.
Disney/ABC says publicly that its policy prohibits them from discussing talent contracts, “Jenny has been a welcome addition to the show.”
Ratings have been on the decline since McCarthy joined The View replacing Elisabeth Hasselbeck last July.
Among McCarthy’s most vocal opponents are the medical and health community who believe that McCarthy’s position on vaccinations is detrimental to her health – as a reputable TV journo.
A rep for J-Mac did not respond to requests for comment from media.
