Federal prosecutors charge a high ranking Naval officer traded military secrets for prostitutes and tickets to a LADY GAGA concert
Commander Michael Vannak Khem Misiewicz stands accused by federal authorities of running an alleged pay-to-play scheme along with a Navy investigations special agent and the CEO of a private defense company who was bilking hundreds of millions of dollars from military contracts.
According to court documents made public, the three alleged co-conspirators exchanged a series of whimsical e-mails to sort out their alleged worldwide paries.
“Should I ask more guys from the office if they want to go to Lady Gaga concert? Thanks!,” Misiewicz wrote to contractor Leonard Glenn Francis, the CEO of Singapore-based Glenn Defense Marine Asia Ltd.
Feds claim he plied Misiewicz and Naval Criminal Investigative Service Agent John Bertrand Beliveau II with pricey airline tickets, high-priced hookers and other pay-for-play perks.
In exchange for the goodies, prosecutors charge that Misiewicz leaked confidential information, including ship movements, which Francis used to land valuable contracts running support of U.S. submarines and aircraft carriers.
