TONI COLLETTE’s been acting like a total diva on the set of her highly anticipated CBS series “Hostages.”
Insiders say the “Sixth Sense” star is a “snob” who prefers movies over TV and has no respect for her fellow cast and crew members’ time.
“Toni always points outs that she’s busy juggling a family and ‘many, many film roles,’” said an insider. “But recently, she kept the crew and actors waiting for hours while she went to the chiropractor.
“That’s when all the rumblings on the set began. This TV project is just an easy paycheck for her, and it’s obvious that she can’t wait for it to be over.”
The 40-year-old beauty won an Emmy and a Golden Globe for her role as a wife and mother with multiple personality disorder on Showtime’s “United States of Tara.” But she’s best known for films like “Little Miss Sunshine,” “Muriel’s Wedding” and most recently, “The Way Way Back.”
On the political thriller “Hostages,” which premieres on Sept. 23, Toni plays Dr. Ellen Sanders, a surgeon whose family is taken hostage by a rogue FBI agent, played by Dylan McDermott, as she prepares to operate on the president.
“We’re hoping that the show’s ratings are through the roof and the reviews are positive,” added the insider. “Maybe then Toni will change her mind about TV – and stop being such a diva.”
