AMANDA BERRY, who escaped the sex dungeon of a suburban house of horrors in Cleveland tells her family, she’s “glad to be back”.
Less than 24 hours after calling police in a desperate bid for help following her escape from her sex slave captors Amanda Berry reached out to her family.
In a story making headlines around the world Berry, 27, and two other women -- Gina DeJesus, 23, and Michele Knight, 32 -- were allegedly held captive in a ramshackle house on Seymour Avenue in Cleveland.
Berry went missing at age 16 in 2003 while on her way home from a job at Burger King, echoing earlier cases of psycho trauma and repeated sexual abuse. The three young women were reportedly used as sex slaves in a dungeon of bondage and horror.
ABC News affiliate WEWS-TV reported that Berry called her grandmother Fern Gentry in Elizabethton, Tenn., telling her the little girl in the hospital photo is her 6-year-old daughter, Jocelyn.
"I'm glad to have you back," her grandmother told Amanda. "I'm glad to be back," Berry happily replied.
