Rock legend ALVIN LEE of TEN YEARS AFTER dies at age 68.
A statement posted on his official website read: "With great sadness we have to announce that Alvin unexpectedly passed away early this morning after unforseen complications following a routine surgical procedure.
"We have lost a wonderful and much loved father and companion, the world has lost a truly great and gifted musician."
Lee, whose career began in the early 9160s became an international stardom after an incendiary performance at Woodstock.
Lee’s band, Ten Years After, blew bigger-name acts away at the mud soaked mecca and his sticker-plastered "Big Red" Gibson ES-335 became a cherished icon of rockers everywhere.
After Ten Years After broke up in 1973, Llee enjoyed a long solo career often teaming with the likes of George Harrison and Mick Fleetwood.
His last LP “Still OnThe Road to Freedom”” released in 2012, paid homage to his musical roots.
Adios, Mr. Lee.
