Ex-cop DREW PETERSON gets 38 years in prison for the 2004 drowning death of his third wife, Kathleen Savio.
The ruling came just a couple hours after Judge Edward Burmila denied attempt by defense attorney for new trial.
Peterson, 59, will spend the rest of his life behind bars.
"I pray that during the last minutes of his life, he is able to clearly see her and she is watching his dissension into hell," Savio's brother, Henry, told the judge.

After a two day parade of witnesses, Judge Edward Burmila of Will County, Ill., said “no way” to a new trial for convicted wife killer Drew Peterson.
The former Bolingbrook, Ill., police sergeant's current legal team argued Peterson should get a new trial because Peterson's lead attorney, Joel Brodsky, allegedly botched the murder trial in the case of dead wife 3 Kathleen Savio.
Peterson’s wife #4 Stacy Peterson still remains missing.
Judge Burmila is said to immediately sentence Peterson on his murder conviction.
Party boy Peterson, 59, faces a maximum of 60 years behind bars.
Legal experts say blaming Brodsky is a longshot because Brodsky was one of five attorneys representing Peterson during the trial.
Brodsky's ethics were also called into question Tuesday by a legal professor who testified Brodsky shouldn't have hired a publicity agent for a possible book deal. Additionally, Brodsky admitted on the stand he received thousands of dollars for television licensing rights.
The families of both Stacy Peterson, who disappeared in October 2007, and Kathleen Savio, whose death was first determined to be a drowning until her corpse was exhumed and traces of arsenic poisoning discovered, were in court for the grim proceedings.
"I miss my sister terribly. I'm hoping that he gets what is coming to him and I hope he gets the max," Savio's sister, Susan Doman, said.
