DESPITE HIS battle with cancer, rock legend Eddie Van Halen is still swinging -- golfing with a zany "one-legged" stance.
At a charity golf tournament in Los Angeles on May 19, Eddie said the unusual technique gives him more power -- but makes it tough to keep the ball on the fairway!
And in an exclusive ENQUIRER interview, Eddie said his main focus is home life and caring for his 10-year-old son Wolfgang.
"I'm no golfer, but I am getting pretty good at playing `Mr. Mom' these days," Eddie told The ENQUIRER.
Valerie Bertinelli, his wife since 1981, has been away, "so I'm up at 6:30 every morning making Wolf breakfast, sending him off to school," explained Eddie. "He gets a kick out of seeing me up at the crack of dawn eating cereal with him after years of me being on the road and being a rock 'n' roll creature -- playing and recording all night and sleeping all day."
In the afternoon, it's tennis lessons and basketball practice. "Val keeps asking why I don't use the housekeeper and I tell her I want the whole parental experience."
But music is still Eddie's chosen path. "And Wolf's following in the old man's footsteps," added Eddie. "We played a benefit together for his school recently -- Wolf on drums and dad on guitar.
Eddie says he is still undergoing follow-up cancer treatments every day.
"It was a big musical theater extravaganza night, hosted by Jason Alexander from 'Seinfeld.'
"We did a song by Kenny Loggins called, `I'm Alright,' and rocked the house."
