BRIAN WILSON, the reclusive musical genius behind the BEACH BOYS, is OUT and and ready to hit the pipeline as he joins the surviving Boys for a surfin' safari.
MIKE LOVE told Spinner.com that the band's innovative songwriter will regroup with the not-so-young Boys for a big tour next year.
"We're gearing up for the 50th anniversary and Brian Wilson, who has been working on some unfinished Gershwin music project, will rejoin us," Love confirmed.
Wilson, who suffered from chronic depression, stopped touring with the band during the late 1960s.
Spending years in isolation, he only reemerged in 2002 after undergoing intensive therapy and even then appeared onstage only sporadically.
Both Brian's brothers and bandmates, Dennis and Carl Wilson, died during the 1980s.
Other than Wilson and Love, the last surviving Beach Boy is Al Jardine.
The remaining factions fought in court for years over the use of the name as Love and Jardine toured with different bands under the Beach Boys brand.
The Beach Boys survivors last appeared together at a press conference in 2006 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the group's revolutionary album "Pet Sounds."
"Good Vibrations", indeed!
