Donald Trump is skipping Thursday’s live Presidential Debate on FOX News — and calling out the network over media bias!
The presidential candidate officially declined the appearance after learning that FOX was insisting on having his outspoken critic Megyn Kelly as part of the panel of journalists.
“I refuse to call Megyn Kelly a bimbo, because that would not be politically correct,” Trump declared via social media.
“Instead, I will only call her a lightweight reporter!”
Megyn became known as an outspoken critic of The Donald after FOX hosted a Republican debate on August 6, 2015.
That included her charging that Trump had called women terms like “fat pigs” and “slobs.”
“Only Rosie O’Donnell,” he responded, garnering laughs and applause from the audience.
Trump later criticized Megan’s questions to the panel of presidential candidates, with the FOX news host responding: “I certainly will not apologize for doing good journalism.”
FOX News conceded that Megyn was the reason for Trump skipping the debate in their official statement on his refusal to participate:
[I]t should be clear to the American public by now that this is rooted in one thing – Megyn Kelly, whom he has viciously attacked since August and has now spent four days demanding be removed from the debate stage.
Trump returned to social media to declare: “The statement put out yesterday by FOX News was a disgrace to good broadcasting and journalism.”
Instead of participating in the FOX debate, Trump has announced that he planned to be attending a charity event for military veterans.
