Thompson has been arrested in July of 2015 for robbing a bank in Cheyenne, Wyo. It wasn't hard to catch her, either. She got the money, sat down at the bank, and tried to give away some cash while waiting for the police to arrive!

“I want to go back to prison,” she told the police officers — later explaining that she had trouble finding work since giving up life as Brian Thompson. Back then, Linda had taken jobs on construction sites and oil rigs. That was before she chose to become "Linda" in 1991. “I had to show my ID," she said about potential employers. “And they'd say, ‘Oh, Linda Patricia Thompson? But you’re a guy … we can’t be having that around here.'”

Fortunately, U.S. District Court Judge Nancy Freudenthal agreed to give the defendant a shortened sentence. Linda could have been sentenced to 20 years in prison. Instead, Linda — who held up the bank just a month after being released from prison on another robbery charge — says that she looks forward to her eventual release, and hopes to find work as a truck driver.
