Sarah, 41, told the Times that she'd first met 73-year-old Holland almost 10 years ago, and that she thought the older lady was "probably the most exquisitely beautiful woman I’d ever seen." Sarah had fallen for older women before, though. She first went public with her sexuality while dating Broadway star Cherry Jones, who was 19 years her senior!

Sarah also told the Times about her attraction to older women: "I think there’s a greater appreciation of time and what you have together and what’s important. It puts a kind of sharp light mixed with a sort of diffused light on something. I can’t say it any other way than there’s a poignancy to it, and a heightened sense of time, and the value of time."

The "American Crime Story" star (seen here as Marcia Clark) also shared a theory about the bond that she has with older women. "I had a complicated home life, and my teachers — predominantly my theater teachers and my English teachers — were very dedicated to taking care of me in a particular way. And in doing so, I think I developed a very easy rapport with people older than myself."

Holland surprised even her longtime fans last year when she announced on a radio show that she was enjoying life with a much-younger woman. Although the veteran actress was never married — and had shown up as a former lesbian on the Showtime cable series "The L Word" — Holland had never been out as bisexual or gay.

She corrected the radio hosts on that matter, though, announcing that she couldn't come out of the closet. "I live out!" she said. The ENQUIRER quickly confirmed that Holland's mystery date was Sarah, and the two soon made a public debut in December for the Broadway premiere of a revival of "Fiddler On The Roof."

Sarah might still be experiencing one problem in her relationship. Holland could be too set in her ways to get married! "Given my generation," said Holland, "it would not be something that would automatically occur to me. But she's mentioned it...just from a spiritual point of view — from a heart point of view — as a deed that has a very rich, symbolic gesture to it."
