Sandra Bullock has suffered a terrifying setback in court after a judge ruled that her obsessive stalker couldn't be taken to trial over his massive stash of firearms — because his rights were violated by the police! That means that Joshua James Corbett is now only facing two out of 26 felony counts after he broke into the star's home!

Defense attorney Steve Sitkoff said police "stomped on" Corbett's rights during an interrogation after his client broke into Sandra's home while she was sleeping!
The National ENQUIRER had the scoop in Corbett was more than just an obsessed fan — and that the police had found a massive collection of deadly weapons in his home!
A terrified Sandra was heard on a 911 recording after Corbett stormed into her home in June 2014 while brandishing rambling love letters. "Someone just broke into my house," Bullock told the operator. "I think it's a man... I'm locked in the closet right now."

But the ruling by Judge Edmund Clarke means that Corbett might only be facing two charges from the shocking incident: first-degree residential burglary and stalking.
The ENQUIRER had obtained the search warrants that revealed Corbett had a deadly arsenal. "Finding out Corbett had a machine gun filled Sandra with dread," revealed a friend. That was after the terrifying night of June 7, 2014, when Sandra returned home from an awards show and was later awakened by the intruder!

According to a police warrant, "[Sandra] arrived at home at about 1 a.m. on June 8, 2014. She went to bed and was later awakened by loud bangs, which she thought was coming from her third floor workout room window. The banging appeared to get louder and sounded like it was coming from her living room this time."

"She then feared for her safety, closed and locked her door to her bedroom and called 911," said the documents. Incredibly, authorities say Corbett had roamed the home for several hours before police arrived around 6:30 a.m. The official paperwork recounted, "Officers made entry into the residence and observed the suspect walking down the staircase. [He] was taken into custody without incident."

"After the suspect was detained," cops added, "he spontaneously yelled out, 'Sandy' numerous times. He also stated, 'Sandy, I'm sorry. Please don't press charges.'" A friend of the actress told The ENQUIRER: "Sandra couldn't believe the guy was able to get into her house. She has 12-foot-high fences topped by barbed wire and state-of-the-art surveillance."
The "Gravity" star was also shocked when police revealed they also found a letter declaring: "Sandy, you could have had me today, however, you choose other people over me...Without you in my life there is only misery...You are my girl!" As with her accused stalker
Thomas James Weldon, Sandra later had a restraining order filed against Corbett (pictured).

After the nutcase's arrest, The ENQUIRER revealed that the actress was telling pals that she planned to leave Los Angeles to
move back to Austin, Tex. Meanwhile, Corbett's attorney Sitkoff insists that his client is "not a criminal, but a person with some serious mental health issues who needs help."
