The nation came together to mourn the first anniversary of Omar Mateen's twisted attack on the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Fla. — with troubling images enduring of the ISIS terrorist's attack on the innocent revelers in the early morning hours of June 12, 2016!

Mateen caught the club's patrons in the midst of their celebrations — with three more bodies being found on the club's stage. Another corpse was found in the front lobby, and another body on the patio.

Surveillance footage inside the club then captured Mateen running from the main dance floor toward the bathrooms. Nine people died in the north bathroom, where Mateen would later barricade himself. Thirteen more died in both bathrooms waiting for help.

One eyewitness to the nightclub nightmare — requesting anonymity — recalled how he and a friend hid in a stall as Mateen first entered the bathroom. “People were screaming, begging for their lives,” he said. After the initial bloody rampage by Mateen, 11 more people would die at a nearby hospital or at triage areas set up outside the club during the shooting. Another 68 revelers were injured.

Mateen made it clear that his bloody attack was an attack of Islamic terrorism, as he declared that he "pledged allegiance" to ISIS during a 911 call that he made from the club during the shootings — adding: “Call me Mujahedeen. Call me the Soldier of God!”

The terrorist also said that he had been inspired by the horrific Boston Marathon bombings of 2013, telling authorities: “My homeboy Tamerlan Tsarnaev did his thing on the Boston Marathon...so now it's my turn, okay?”

In a bizarre twist, though, members of the gay community later revealed that the selfie-obsessed terrorist himself had been leading a secret homosexual life. Mateen might have hoped to have taken those secrets to his grave, with the madman finally shot down during a gun battle with police.

Mateen's wife Noor Salman — who Mateen texted during his horrific attack on the innocent revelers — was later arrested on charges of aiding and abetting the brutal bloodbath. She originally told reporters: “I was unaware of everything” — but authorities say that she had accompanied Mateen as he spent thousands on death-dealing ammunition.
