Paul Simon sang "Bridge Over Troubled Water" for the opening night of the Democratic National Convention — and had fans convinced that he's on his final campaign! The bizarre performance immediately had viewers flocking to social media to declare that the 74-year-old performer seemed "sick" and "ill." In a troubling twist, the appearance came just as Paul announced that he was ready to leave the stage for good!

“You’re coming towards the end,” said Paul in a troubling interview from just weeks before the humiliating performance. “Showbiz doesn’t hold any interest for me,” he added. “None ... It’s an act of courage to let go. I am going to see what happens if I let go."
