Matt Lauer in 1991. But she left NBC in 2006 to join CBS, and became the first full-time female news anchor to host an evening new show on her own. But as Katie's ratings tanked, she suddenly discovered an interest in doing more “multidimensional” storytelling.

Her daytime show, “Katie,” debuted to strong ratings in 2012 — only to have the plug pulled less than two years later. She then bounced to Yahoo! as a global news anchor in bid to create a “prestigious web destination.” Since then, Yahoo! has become one of the internet's most disastrous websites.

The National ENQUIRER caught her looking rough in April while guesting on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" Katie has good reason to work on her look, too — since rumors are surging that the troubled Yahoo! empire can no longer afford a newsperson who isn't bringing in viewers. One source noted that while Katie is still a “brand name," she’s also “essentially been made virtually invisible!"
