Katie got her big break playing tomboy Joey Potter on “Dawson's Creek” in 1998. The teen drama helped Katie build a wholesome image with her teen audience and allowed her to work on films during her time off.
Katie garnered indie street cred in such films as "Pieces of April" and "GO".
Katie struck box office gold in the 2005 film “Batman Begins”. She played Rachel Dawes, a Gotham City attorney and the love interest of Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) Batman.

Katie Holmes started dating Tom Cruise in the spring of 2005 and the pair had a whirlwind courtship. They met, got engaged and got pregnant in less than six months - shocker! Tom proposed to Katie at the Eiffel Tower and announced the news at a presser for his film, “War of the Worlds”.
Before Tom and Katie could tie the knot, they made time to welcome their first child. Suri Cruise was born on April 18, 2006. Seven months later, the couple married in Italy.
Katie is a doting mom to Suri, often seen playing and shopping with the toddler.
On June 29, 2012 Katie filed for divorce from Tom in New York. A settlement was quickly reached leaving Katie with principal custody of Suri, 6.
