Authorities say this house in Chester County, S.C., was the site of a horrific homicide — as Angela Blackwell is accused of killing her 4-day-old child by throwing him into the family freezer! She was arrested on Monday, August 22, for the crime that police say happened this past February.
Angela, 27, has been charged with felony murder charges, along with charges of homicide by child abuse. She allegedly put William David Paul Lewis into the freezer on Feb. 27, with deputies later called to Chester Regional Medical Center by horrified doctors trying to save the unresponsive child.
This tragic photo shows Blackwell shortly after giving birth to William — as his father, Jeffrey Paul Lewis, proudly stands by with their older son, Merlin. Angela's in-laws refuse to believe that she's guilty.
“It’s hard," said the dead child's grandfather, Billy Lewis — insisting: "That’s a lie right there, 'cause she didn’t do it. We don’t know who did, but she didn’t do it because she loves her kids too much!"
Blackwell was brought before the court with a public defender. A bond wasn't set for her release. Merlin has been put in the custody of South Carolina Social Services.
