1969 was a great year for Berlin beauty Elke Sommer, as she hung out in Hollywood and quickly became one of the '60s leading sex symbols. She remained a popular figure on American television into the 1970s before concentrating on work in the theater. Today, Elke spends most of her time in Germany and prefers to be thought of as a painter. She was already hosting her own art shows back in 1965 — and we're happy to toast her body of work for yet another Happy New Year!
