Dolly Parton In Concert – New York, New York
The
latest scandal for Dolly began when she was interviewed by the
New York Times, who asked the star about her opinion on a woman running for president. "Hillary might make as good a president as anybody ever has," she replied — adding: "I personally think a woman would do a great job. I think Hillary's very qualified. So if she gets it, I'll certainly be behind her."

That quote was soon picked up by publications on both the Republican and Democratic side — with plenty of outraged country fans expressing their resentment. "She just lost half of her fan base with that endorsement," said one disappointed follower, while another wrote: "Guess our vacations and little holiday excursions will be to other places than Dollywood from here on out!"

"This morning while I was watching the news," said Dolly in a statement, "I saw many reports that I had endorsed Hillary Clinton. My comment about supporting a woman in the White House was taken out of context. I have not endorsed Hillary Clinton nor Donald Trump. I try not to get political, but if I am, I might as well just run myself 'cause I've got the hair for it, it's huge, and they could always use more boobs in the race!"

"But seriously," she continued, "I have not decided who I'm voting for, but no matter what, we're gonna be suffering from PMS — Presidential Mood Swings!"

Dolly had good reason to move fast, too. She's in the middle of a “Pure & Simple” tour that will take her right through the heartland that was won over by
Donald Trump. There's been a lot of buzz about how Dolly has been performing old songs that she hasn't done in concert for years — but that was getting drowned out by the outrage of her (accidental) endorsement.
