Dennis Rodman Vs. State Department Over Claims He Freed North Korean Prisoner

Dennis Rodman has declared that he freed North Korean prisoner Otto Warmbier — but the State Department says he had "nothing to do" with the release of the doomed man!

"I was just so happy to see the kid released," said Rodman, whose manager Chris Volo says that he knows the basketball star's trip to North Korea was connected to the release of Otto, who died shortly after his parents learned of his release and that he'd been in a coma since beginning what was to be a harsh prison sentence for stealing a poster in the country.

"I asked on behalf of Dennis for his release three times," said Volo — adding: "I know being there had something to do with it." Otto's grieving father, however, said that "Rodman had nothing to do with Otto returning to the United States." The U.S. State Department then echoed the claim, also saying Rodman had "nothing to do" with the release.

Rodman, however, sent his fans to a bizarre rapping news video that he endorsed as being free of "political opinions or fake news." The video celebrated Rodman — a proud friend of madman Kim Jong-un —  for making "a very rare trip by a rare guy," and plugged how his trip was sponsored by a company that provides internet currency for marijuana purchases.
