Gail Jensen was still only dating David when she saved him from autoerotic asphyxiation in 1984. "I only wish I had been around to save him this time," a distraught Gail told The ENQUIRER exclusively. She was married to the ruggedly handsome star from 1986 to 1996, and she has no doubt that his bizarre practice of choking himself during sex acts is what killed him.

"He spent hours doing this stuff," Gail said. " He was really psychopathic about sex. He always wanted to be tied up...It was 1984 when I found him unconscious hanging from a beam with a belt around his neck. I lifted him down and was able to revive him. He had been playing the same dangerous sex game that I believe killed him.

The near-death incident terrified Gail, but she said it hardly seemed to disturb the bizarre cult hero. "When I finally got him down," recalled Gail, "David looked at me and said: 'I'm hungry. I want a sandwich.'"

Sadly, Gail wasn't there as David spent his final minutes hanging from the metal clothes bar of the closet in a five-star luxury hotel in Thailand. But other members of the Carradine clan had their doubts about the death — and investigators later became convinced that David was murdered by transvestite prostitutes! [WARNING: GRAPHIC IMAGES...]

The autopsy report on the actor reported that his neck, wrists and genitals were bound — and his hair was matted in blood! "I've probably seen 50 cases of fatal autoerotic asphyxiations, but none of them involved blood," said Hollywood detective Paul Huebl. "Most men die this way accidentally...they are not into causing themselves pain until they bleed."

The autopsy report from Thailand also said that David was found hanging by a gold rope in the closet with a black shoe lace tied around his manhood — as also seen in the crime scene photos. But while there was a broken bone in David's neck, the autopsy also noted "an abrasive wound at the neck" that was near the fatal injury.

Marina Anderson, who was married to David between 1998 and 2001, claims that a source in the L.A. coroner's office told her that a pressure abrasion is "usually part of strangulation by another party." Miranda believes Carradine might have invited four Thais into his room — with at least one of them being a transsexual "lady boy!"

Marina noted: "The laces used on David were not his. Did they come from one of these people?" She added that David's expensive vintage Patek Phillipe watch was missing from the death scene.

The autopsy revealed a "red oval mark on David's left forearm" (pictured) that could be a defensive wound. Marina also discovered that another American male, slightly older than David, had recently died in Thailand under similar circumstances.

It wouldn't have been David's first time seeking out that sexual thrill. Hollywood insider Skip E. Lowe told The ENQUIRER that the "Kill Bill" actor always had an interest in "pre-op" transsexuals.

Skip claimed that David once asked him to find a "trannie" in Hollywood's notorious red light district. All three ended up in a hotel room where David told the transvestite "to get undressed but keep the stiletto heels on," before the two engaged in sex, Skip said.

Paul Huebl doesn't doubt Marina's tale, with the detective easily imagining the scene: "Carradine was 72 years old and impaired by alcohol. He would have been easy to take down, with one killer choking him from behind while the others tied his hand and grabbed his watch."

Huebl also believes the killers benefited from a cover-up: "One man's fate doesn't compare with the multimillion-dollar tourist industry Thailand would lose if travelers knew they could get rolled by a vicious band of sadistic killers!"
