Camilla Crowns Herself Queen

Camilla has outraged and embarrassed the royal family by brazenly “crowning” herself queen with a tiara she shamelessly plucked from Queen Elizabeth II’s jewelry collection — without the monarch’s permission!

Elizabeth, 91, was shocked — along with other aristocrats — as scheming Camilla arrived at a Buckingham Palace state dinner for Spain’s King Felipe (left) and Queen Letizia wearing the Greville Tiara, a diamond-encrusted headpiece that belonged to King George VI’s wife!

“It was a jaw-dropping moment,” says a palace insider. “At first Her Majesty couldn’t believe her eyes. She thought the Greville Tiara, which belonged to her mother, Elizabeth, was safely in her royal apartments.

“She called an aide to her side and confirmed Camilla was, indeed, wearing the Greville. The queen was beside herself with fury, but bottled up her anger in order to be a gracious host to the Spanish visitors.”

Insiders say Prince Charles’ shameless second wife had secretly slithered into the queen’s quarters and snatched the headdress. She was desperate to show up Prince William’s wife, Princess Kate Middleton, who dazzled the ballroom wearing the late Princess Diana’s Cambridge Lover’s Knot tiara.

Although Elizabeth has declared William and Kate her heirs to the throne, ruthlessly ambitious Camilla won’t give up her dream of becoming queen. Sources say swanning around with the tiara on her head was part of her drunken fantasy.

“She’s been hitting the gin hard lately,” says the insider. “Servants say she guzzled four large, cut-glass tumblers of gin before sneaking off and filching the tiara. The queen was livid.”
