Angelina Jolie Anorexia Crisis — Down To 79 Lbs

Angelina Jolie is a walking skeleton who could drop dead at any moment! As the wispy star’s weight plummets to a tear-inducing all-time low of 79 pounds, The National ENQUIRER can reveal that her friends fear she’s losing a brave battle — and is in danger of suffering severe organ failure and possibly death! Her heartbroken husband Brad Pitt is anxiously trying to get Angie, 40, to eat more and work less, but his desperate pleas have fallen on deaf ears!

With Angie’s fragile life seemingly hanging by a thread, Brad has issued one last desperate ultimatum to convince her to seek help: Eat or divorce! Sources said Brad is reportedly “at the end of his rope” regarding his wife’s appearance. They add that he's already tried everything to make Angelina (seen here during a recent visit to Greece) eat more nutritiously and slow down her hectic schedule.

“Brad has done everything to get Angie to focus on her health and well-being,” gabbed a spy. “He’s watched in despair as Angie sometimes goes all day without eating a solid meal and watched as well as she’s sometimes slept in to the late afternoon because she doesn’t have the energy to get out of bed.”

Brad, 52, has brought in nutritionists, dietitians, and even therapists to try to get through to the "Maleficent" star — but, sadly, to no avail! “He’s so worried about her dying and he loves her so much that he’s willing to divorce her as a wake-up call, if that’s what it takes,” revealed the insider.  “He told her he can’t watch her waste away anymore. It’s too hard on him and the kids, and he’s told her, ‘Get help now!’”

But pals said Angie — seen here looking healthier with Brad in 2010 — is in absolute denial that she’s in crisis, refusing to acknowledge she has a weight problem. “Angie’s never been this thin. She looks like a corpse already!” one stunned spy told The ENQUIRER. “Her veins are popping, her bones are protruding like knives from her limbs, and her eyes are receding into dark and seemingly bottomless sockets!"

“She needs professional help," fretted the pal, "and fast! But she refuses to acknowledge she has a problem. She’s in a deadly spiral of denial!”

Experts consulted by The ENQUIRER said that 5-foot-7 Angie should tip the scales at 140 pounds — which is nearly twice her current body weight! After review, one doctor said she’s suffering from what “appears to be anorexia” — while another believed she may have a wasting syndrome called cachexia. (She's seen here already looking alarmingly thin at the January 2016 premiere of "Kung Fu Panda 3.")

“Anyone who has a significantly low body weight like this and consistently abuses their body in this way can cause his or herself major harm,” said Dr. Art Mollen of Scottsdale, Ariz. The physician said he would immediately admit someone in Angie’s desperate condition to an inpatient behavioral treatment center.

And The ENQUIRER learned that, according to Angie last March, she had already been secretly hospitalized for a procedure to remain cancer-free. Another medical expert, Dr. Stuart Fischer — who, like Dr. Mollen, has not treated Angie — said he also believes she suffers from cachexia, which can increase the chances of death from an underlying medical condition.

Another physician said: “From her appearance, it looks like cancer’s eating her alive!” Doctors sounded alarm bells for the Oscar winner — who, after years of living together, finally tied the knot with Brad in 2014. “If she keeps pushing boundaries, her body will shut down without further warning,” said New York nutritionist Franci Cohen.

The mother of six took the extreme step of undergoing a double mastectomy three years ago. Medical tests had shown that she carried a gene mutation that left her vulnerable to breast and ovarian cancer — the same illnesses which led to the early deaths of her mother, her grandmother and an aunt.

Last year, Angelina had her ovaries removed after a blood test found markers that “could be a sign of early cancer,” dished the insider. Surgeons found a benign tumor, but no cancer. The removal of her ovaries caused her to enter early menopause, which can trigger other complications — including heart disease, osteoporosis and increased risk of mortality.

An insider told The ENQUIRER that Angelina is also suffering from blinding headaches and paranoia. Dr. Fischer was shown new photos of an emaciated Angie meeting with Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on March 16 — and he said that she appears ready to collapse. “She’s starving herself and it can happen at any time,” said Dr. Fischer, who added, “She’s burning her own muscles for fuel. The next symptom is physical collapse!"
