Dearman, 27, had been in an abusive relationship with Laneta Lester, 24, who had gone to the house to stay with a relative on the night of Friday, August 19. Dearman had followed her to the location — and had fled after the inhabitants called the police at 1 a.m. The victims then made the fatal mistake of staying at the house and later became targets for the killer, who used both firearms and an axe in his bloody rampage.

Chelsea Marie Reed, 22, was five months pregnant. Her murder has also created an additional charge against Dearman, since Alabama has a fetal homicide law that applies to a fetus in any stage of pregnancy. She's seen here with her husband Justin Reed, 23, who was also found dead at the scene.

The victims included 35-year-old Shannon Melissa Randall (pictured) — along with Robert Lee Brown and Joseph Adam Turner, both 26. Laneta survived the horrific rampage, and was then abducted by Dearman, who also allegedly took a 4-month-old infant that was in the house.

Authorities said Dearman then drove across the state line to his father's house in Mississippi. Laneta later escaped with the baby, and went to report the murders at a police station. By then, however, Dearman had been convinced to turn himself in at the Greene County Sheriff's Office in Mississippi. The extradition process has been started in Mobile, which is about 30 miles from the crime scene.
