THE PREZ WHO STOLE THE MOON

description

First it was no new Space Shuttle and outsourcing NASA glory to other countries but now Obama wants to scrap the U.S. return to the moon!  Lost in the number crunching of the proposed $3.8 trillion budget and new math is the end of America’s dominance in space and with it, the industry and jobs that go with space exploration.

With the next gen of space shuttles now canceled, thanks to what’s now being called The Great Recession, the Obama administration is limiting future space effort to downsized collaborations with other nations including India.

If Congress passes the budget the Constellation program would be scuttled permanently, AND its goal of returning a manned mission to the moon, the site of America’s greatest achievement, the Apollo missions of the late ’60s and ’70s.

"We are proposing canceling the program, not delaying it," Peter Orszag, director of the Office of Management and Budget said.

The budget restrictions also salvos the Ares I rocket, the successor to the space shuttle program.

"It means that essentially the U.S has decided that they’re not going to be a significant player in human space flight for the foreseeable future," former NASA administrator Michael Griffin told The Washington Post.

And that also means the jobs, the industry, the new technological discoveries that America would profit from in such endeavors would now be lost, putting the U.S. behind the proverbial third world 8-Ball.

Cutting budgets, curtailing dreams and destroying the future – will this be Obama’s legacy?
