BRITNEY: GETTING A HIMYM SPIN-OFF?

YAAY…IT’S “PLAN B!” After BRITNEY SPEARS clicked with her guest shot on “How I Met Your Mother,” CBS execs brainstormed what they’re calling The Big Plan: Turn Pop Tart’s career around before the inevitable Big Crash…by turning her into a sitcom star!

Said a network insider: “Britney did a great job playing the cute, funny receptionist – and really enjoyed herself. There was no live audience, the set felt very safe, and that really focused her mind.” CBS hopes to guest-star Brit on future “HIMYM” episodes, then spin her off into her own sitcom – and her parents are ecstatic!

“LYNNE and JAMIE couldn’t stop thanking the execs for the opportunity,” said the source. “Doing a TV show will help Britney keep focused – plus keep her in LA, where she can see her kids regularly and create a positive work routine.” Even if a world tour that’s in the talking stages comes through, Britney could still do it during the show’s long summer hiatus. (Say a prayer, folks? I just did.)
