Goodfella ROBERT DE NIRO charged out of his LA restaurant Ago like a raging bull when he heard the agonized yelps of what he thought was a dog in pain - and spotted a gang of five young punks torturing a wounded coyote that had wandered down from the Hollywood Hills. Two of the creeps were viciously jabbing the frightened animal with hockey sticks - and De Niro went totally Godfather! "What the hell you think you're doin'?" he bellowed. "How 'bout I take those hockey sticks and beat the hell out of you? Get outta here before I call the cops!" As the punks beat it, De Niro whipped out his cell phone, contacted the LA Wildlife WayStation and while he waited for them to rescue the coyote, he ordered a busboy from his eatery to bring a pan of water and food for the injured animal.
