episode, feisty KATHERINE "Dr.
Izzie" HEIGL got "in the moment"
for an emotional scene in which
she tells a mother her daughter's
dying - then started sobbing
so uncontrollably she couldn't
stop, even when the director
called: "Cut!...Perfect." As
she continued to cry, everyone
left her alone - except PATRICK
DEMPSEY, who poked fun
by sniffling and dabbing
his eyes with a
hankie. Katherine -
feeling pressure
since her threat to
quit - exploded and
screamed: "F___ you!
That's just the way
I work, Patrick! It
wasn't done to amuse
YOU!" Everybody stood
stunned as she stormed off
the set! Hours later, Katherine
and Patrick made peace - and
she apologized to cast and
crew for the outburst.
