The 26-year-old choreographer/dancer had secretly met with a top Beverly Hills jeweler to design a stunning sparkler – a diamond ringed by baguettes – but his stealth bombshell blew up when J.Lo overheard him talking on the phone about “carats” and “final design.”
Said an insider: “With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, Jennifer’s suspicions were aroused – so she confronted Casper, asking bluntly if he was planning to propose. Casper denied all at first, but Jennifer warned him she was dead serious and needed to know the truth. She told him she loves him and their life together, but even though she believes in the institution of marriage, it hasn’t worked out for her, so – faced with Casper’s sudden move – she’s just not sure she’s ready to walk down the aisle a fourth time. Casper was crushed! He feels that he, Jennifer and her kids have grown into a strong family unit, and had high hopes she’d just say ‘yes’ to his proposal.
