NOTE TO READERS WHO WATCH “THE VIEW”:

The headline on this column two weeks ago was “Whoopi: LIAR!!” I reported that WHOOPI GOLDBERG told millions of viewers the vicious lie that “when my dad passed away, they ran his picture on the cover of The ENQUIRER” – and even slimed the mortuary, saying her father’s open-casket photo was sneakily snapped by a staffer.

FACT: Our paper NEVER ran a coffin pic of Whoopi’s estranged dad on the front page, or ANY page – and NO open-casket photo’s been published ANYWHERE!

Neither Whoopi, nor Boss BARBARA WALTERS – always trigger-quick to label other folks liars – have responded to my charge, which was picked up by the press!

So, Whoopi, the headline stands… LIAR!
