Courageous VALERIE HARPER’s grateful – but a bit annoyed with her doctors because…get this!…she’s still ALIVE!!
More than a year ago, docs diagnosed the 74-year-old comedy star with terminal brain cancer – delivering the devastating news that she had as little as three months to live!
“But Valerie is still very much here,” said a close friend. “She’s eternally grateful to her doctors for keeping her alive this long, but feels a bit embarrassed that she did numerous TV interviews saying she was dying.”
Valerie told pals she went public with the news only because she thought she’d be dead within weeks.
“She doesn’t want people to think she’s a fraud, or made her illness worse than it is,” explained the friend.
“When people come up to her and say, ‘Hey I thought you had only three months to live,’ she immediately quips, ‘It’s my doctor’s fault!’”
