CLOSE CALL: Samuel L. Jackson was nearly plowed under at a Beverly Hills seafood eatery as he got out of his gold Mercedes. A valet parker in a Range Rover accidentally stepped on the gas instead of the brakes and slammed into an SUV — which careened toward the actor, missing him by scant inches as he dove out of the way. The car was crushed, but unflappable Jackson kept his dinner plans.
