Running errands in West Hollywood, BEN AFFLECK was approached by two female fans who asked if he'd pose for a pic.
"Ben told them, 'I'd really like to, ladies, but my meter has run out and I'm late for a meeting,'" reported a friend, who says Ben then bolted across the street to his car.
But as he U-turned and headed toward BevHills, he spotted the ladies again, still standing where he'd met them, looking all sad and forlorn.
"Ben can't stand to see that look," said the friend, "so he pulled over, double-parked, apologized to the ladies — and posed for a picture."
A moment later, the star dove back into his car and took off fast as a meter maid approached to write him a ticket!
