SCARJO KICKS BUTT!

"Captain America" star SCARLETT JOHANSSON stepped up like a real-life superhero and battled producers, who were about to fire a female extra — plus withhold her day's pay — after she showed up six months pregnant.

"She hadn't said she was pregnant," said an on-set source, "and because the scenes involved females wearing skimpy outfits, producers were ready to dismiss her because she wasn't right for the scene. But when Scarlett overheard they were not only firing her, but docking her day's pay because she was pregnant, she jumped right in and demanded they make it work with a simple rewrite."

Scarlett told execs: "She can be sitting down in a chair, or sitting behind a table. I don't care how you do it — just make it work!"

The star eventually got her way, said the source, and as the pregnant woman walked onto the set to work, she happily flashed her Superhero ScarJo a big thumbs-up!
