Imminentex Ryan zigged instead of zagged – and got his bell rung hard on a Texas movie location because he insisted on doing a scene scheduled for his stunt double. It looked simple enough: Ryan had to run down a hill while looking back over his shoulder, then veer sharply to the right. When cameras rolled, Ryan ran, looked back, veered left instead of right and…THUNK!...slammed head-on into a metal light pole with such force, say eyewitnesses, he literally bounced off it and hit the ground… cold-cocked! It took medics more than a minute to revive him. After Ryan was checked for concussion, he got back on his feet and asked for a few minutes to recover before re-shooting. "Sure," said the director – but the minute Ryan wobbled off the set, his stunt double stepped in and shot the scene in one take.
