SHORT, BUT SWEET DEPT.: Petite superstar REESE WITHERSPOON's a movie giant, but when the director of her new flick "Penelope" plopped her on a Vespa scooter for a scene, those gorgeous li'l gams just wouldn't stretch to the footpegs! Even after wooden blocks were strategically placed on the pegs, Reese's tootsies kept slipping off - even after prop guys affixed nonslip tape!
The director finally gave up on Ms. Girly-Girl, and had the Vespa towed by a rope that was just out of camera-shot. "I was height-challenged," admits Reese. "And I was a little embarrassed!"
