PAPARAZZI'S A PAL WHEN HUGH LOSES KID

Here's proof (if you needed it!) that stars don't think like thee or me: "X-Men" hunk HUGH JACKMAN - strutting his muscles on a Malibu beach with kids Oscar, 8, and Ava, 2 - panicked when he suddenly realized his little boy was nowhere in sight. "I'd sat down with my two kids, we were playing - and all of a sudden he's gone!" Hugh, who's starring in his new flick "Deception," told an interviewer. "A couple of minutes go by...and I'm like, all right, where's my son? All of a sudden, I'm freaking out. I start running down the beach...and out of the corner of my eye, I see this guy running behind me. I turn around - and it's a paparazzi!" (Folks, you or I, at this point, would yell at the guy: "Hey - have you seen a little kid?" But we don't think like stars. Here's how Hugh reacted...) "So I think, 'Oh, NO! That's all I need - I've lost my son, and now this guy's going to take pictures of me hysterical'...so I'm trying to avoid him!" Hugh kept running, but finally stopped when the photog screamed urgently, "HUGH!...HUGH!" As he turned to face the guy, Hugh heard what he'd wanted so desperately to hear: "Listen, mate, there's your son...over there!" Said Hugh: "I looked around - and saw my little boy. That paparazzi was really child-minding! I guess those guys do come in handy...occasionally."
