'MONK' STAR HOWLS: SAVE THIS COYOTE

Aaaaawww! Emmy winner TONY SHALHOUB, who just ended his eight-year run on “Monk,” pulled over suddenly while driving through LA’s tony Hancock Park as he spotted what looked like an injured dog on the street – but he was shocked to find it was actually a baby coyote!

The poor pup, apparently hit by a car, had a broken leg and nasty cuts, so big-hearted Tony wrapped his sports coat around Wild Thing and drove it to an animal rescue shelter.

He begged them not to destroy the little critter and pledged to pay the surgery tab.

Next day, the shelter called to say Smiley Coyote was recovering nicely...but it’s doubtful Tony will adopt.
