Jay Leno, emceeing an Adopt-A-Minefield charity fundraiser, bit his tongue after he blurted: “By the way, there’s a LAND MINE under one of your tables!” Ja’s ad-lib shocked the audience — which had just viewed a heart-wrenching video about land mine victims! Nobody laughed — including a victim from Croatia who was being honored and Paul McCartney’s girlfriend, Heather Mills, an amputee and orgaizer of the charity. Poor Jay — who was just trying to be a nice guy by donating his time to the charity — quickly explained it was “just a joke.” But one guest groused: “Would you joke about breast cancer at a breast cancer fundraiser?”
