SECRET PALS DEPT.: Turns out “Up in the Air” Oscar nominee ANNA KENDRICK and “American Idol” belter ADAM LAMBERT are, like, best girlfriends…or something like that!…and tell each other EVERYTHING, Anna revealed to RYAN SEACREST on his KIIS-FM radio show.

“I’ve known Adam since I was 18, and when we saw each other at a party about a year ago he actually told me, ‘You CAN’T tell anybody – but I tried out for “American Idol” and I actually got to Hollywood week.’ So I was, like, YOU can’t tell anybody, Adam, but I just signed for this incredible movie with GEORGE CLOONEY!”

(FYI, folks, Glambert took a huge risk blabbing about his win; “Idol” rules say if you yap about your standing before a show airs, you’re toast!)

Snarked Seacrest: “Nice to know everybody’s abiding by their contracts in Hollywood by not telling secrets!”
