Now that “Good Morning America” staffers are crowing – justifiably – about toppling “Today’s” 16-year winning streak as TV’s top-rated morning show, KATIE COURIC wants in on the action, boasting – justifiably – that the hosting buzz she created triggered the heat…and now she wants a curtain call!
Reports My Network Spy: “Katie’s set to launch her own talk show on ABC stations in September, and she’s told ‘GMA’ producers she’d love to create buzz by regularly subbing on their show.”
But when “GMA” co-host ROBIN ROBERTS heard that, she freaked – because she was benched when Katie guest-hosted!
“Robin’s justifiably proud of the work she put in to put ‘GMA’ on top – and it’s like she ran 99 yards with the ball, but Katie gets to go the one yard for a touchdown,” said a friend.
But when diplomatic Katie heard about Robin’s bitter reaction, she told bosses she’d “love to host WITH Robin next time GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS goes on vacation.”
