JESSICA SIMPSON – who made reality TV history on “Newlyweds” when she asked then-hubby NICK LACHEY if “Chicken of the Sea” was really “chicken…or tuna?” – is just dying to ditz again!
Freaked about her sagging singing career, Jessica approached Nick about reteaming for a new show, reports a source, and he’s mulling the so-wacky-it- might-work idea.
“It’d be like SONNY and CHER, who continued their TV show after their divorce – and a field day for joke writers,” said the source, who added that Jessica’s current beau, TONY ROMO, is down with it.
“Tony doesn’t see Nick as a threat, and he’d love Jess to stay busy during football season.”
Grouchy manager/Papa JOE SIMPSON is cool with the show if there’s a buck to be made, said the source – although he still can’t stand Nick.
But…will VANESSA MINNILLO want Blondie back in Nick’s picture?! Stay tuned.
