HATHAWAY CLUELESS ABOUT HOMELESS

NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED DEPT.: A generous gesture by ANNE HATHAWAY backfired when she spotted a disheveled, shabby-looking older woman sitting on a bus bench near swanky West Hollywood eatery Cecconi’s and – assuming she was a homeless person – offered her a doggy bag of gourmet leftovers.

Outraged, the woman lashed out at the “Rachel Getting Married” star: “What do you think I am – HOMELESS?...I’m just waiting for the bus!...Just because I’m not all dressed up, you think I’m a homeless woman?”

Stunned, Anne apologized profusely as the woman ranted, but finally scampered off with her rejected doggy bag.
