Russell Crowe played real-life hero — rescuing a young girl being trampled by surging crowds outside the SAG awards show! The “Gladiator” star arrived at the auditorium and heard a girl scream his name — then spotted her agonized face as jam-packed fans slammed her against a metal post! The girl — about 14 years old — screamed again: “RUSSELL!” Ignoring bodyguards’ pleas to stay put, Crowe charged into the swarming mass, grabbed the girl and yanked her back through security ropes! When the shaken youngster sobbed that she’d been separated from her mom, Crowe sent in his bodyguards — who pulled the mother to safety! Crowe signed autographs for the grateful duo — then had them ushered to special seats to enjoy the show! (Now THAT’S a movie star!)
