Divorced and flat broke, Jon Gosselin’s friends are worried that he is suicidal, say sources close to the reality TV star.
“Jon appears to be at the end of his rope. He feels that he has nothing left to live for,” divulged an insider.
“Jon feels betrayed by anyone he’s ever trusted. He’s drowning in a sea of debt, yet he blames everyone except himself for his problems. He rages on and on to anyone who will listen that the ‘leeches’ in his life have bled him dry.”
Some of his harshest criticism is directed at TLC, said the source.
“Jon says TLC is still preventing him from pursuing other high-paying offers as a ‘vendetta’ for pulling the plug on ‘Jon & Kate Plus 8.’ He claims they’re out to ruin him,” the insider said.
The unemployed 32-year-old owes $90,000 to his former girlfriend Hailey Glassman, plus $13,000-a-month in child support to his ex-wife.
“He hasn’t paid the rent on his New York City apartment for four months, and they’re getting ready to toss him out,” said the insider.
“Hailey had been paying half the rent, but Jon was so desperate for cash that he pocketed her money. When Hailey found out, she hit the roof!”
The two still live together, although Hailey is dating celebrity boxing promoter Damon Feldman. Hailey met Feldman when he hired her to referee a boxing match, and Jon showed up in Philadelphia when she did a press conference for the event.
“A security camera caught Jon lurking around the hotel where the press conference was being held. Feldman claimed he told Jon to back off and stop following Hailey,” said the source.
Feldman told the Web site RadarOnline. com that Jon “was acting crazy… when Hailey just wanted to be left alone. Me and another of my guys went out to talk with him but he wouldn’t leave and just sat in his car with this glassy stare on his face.
“After we walked away, he kept sending her nasty text messages and only left after she called him and accused him of being a stalker.”
One of Jon’s lawyers, Mark Heller, denies that Jon could take his own life, saying: “Jon Gosselin is the opposite of suicidal. He is the most joyful and optimistic person I know.”
But when a frazzled Jon recently fired a handgun outside the family home in Wernersville, Pa., it prompted his ex-wife Kate to get a court order prohibiting him from bringing a gun into their home. Pals fear the chilling incident indicates Jon may be considering suicide as a way out.
“After he fired that gun, Jon said he was so angry that he just had to shoot something,” the source divulged.
“He said, ‘I can’t afford my apartment. I can’t pay my rent. What have I got to live for? Nothing! I don’t even want to go on anymore.’”
