Just when you thought the Gosselins were stick a fork in them d-e-a-d comes bristling NEW revelations!

According to RadarOnline.com,  Jon Gosselin, who has since been hit with a divorce filing from wife Kate, was the one responsible for starting the rumors that Kate was having an affair with bodyguard Steve Nield!

"Jon wanted a divorce and he also wanted to throw attention away from himself, so he spread that rumor," the source divulged.  "Jon doesn't like Steve so he didn't care about the repercussions."

Meanwhile, as the hunky and married bodyguard lays low Kate has resurfaced in Hollywood looking to further her options if Jon & Kate Plus 8 does a floperoo when it returns from "hiatus" August 3.  '
