Robert Downey Jr. is apparently not handling his latest arrest too well – the actor was reportedly hospitalized this weekend to help deal with his latest bout of depression.
According to sources, Downey, 35, checked himself into a Los Angeles hospital on Friday and was out by Sunday. The actor’s publicist has declined to comment on the matter.
Since his Thanksgiving weekend arrest, the young star’s life has been completely up in the air. It now appears as if his upcoming role in the film “America’s Sweethearts” may soon be filled by another actor.
“Because of the uncertainty of what will happen when he goes to court… they decided this morning to start looking, so they’re making up a list (of possible replacements) now,” a source told Reuters today.
Downey is also scheduled to star in a stage production of “Hamlet” next year, but that too remains in question pending his latest drug charges.
