RICKY MARTIN TO HEADLINE INAUGURATION

George W. Bush will be “livin’ la vida loca” on Inauguration Day. Latino heartthrob Ricky Martin is slated to headline the big bash on January 18 when Bush is sworn in as the 43rd president of the United States.

Ricky will be joined by a slew of celebrities, including singer Van Morrison and Frasier’s Kelsey Grammer, making the party seem more like a pay-per-view special than a presidential inauguration! The event, held outside the famous Lincoln Memorial, is also said to feature skydivers, fireworks, parades, and other types of outrageous entertainment.

“My focus is on bringing America together,” explained George Schlatter, the event’s producer. “This is more a celebration about family and celebrating America and the spirit of coming together.”

The event reportedly cost $1.5 million — peanuts compared to the $7-million bash thrown for President Clinton’s first Inauguration in 1992.
